About
One developer. 28 years.
Zero shortcuts.
Absolute 0 is Jay Goodman—a one-person studio in Northeast Ohio that’s been building for the web since before Google existed. No team page, no org chart, no layers between you and the person doing the work.
The Story
Started in a basement.
Still doing it for the same reason.
I built my first website in 1998—hand-coded HTML on a 56k modem, uploaded via FTP, tested in Netscape Navigator. I was hooked immediately. Not because I saw a career in it, but because I loved the craft of building something useful from nothing.
Twenty-eight years later, the tools have changed but the motivation hasn’t. I still get the same satisfaction from writing clean code, solving hard problems, and watching a client’s business grow because their technology actually works the way it should.
I’ve been through every era of the web—table layouts, Flash, the responsive revolution, WordPress’s rise, the SaaS explosion, and now AI. Through all of it, the constant has been the relationships. Some of my clients have been with me for over a decade.
Philosophy
Your partner,
not just your vendor
I don’t do projects and disappear. When you work with me, you get my direct phone number, my honest opinion, and someone who treats your business like it matters—because to me, it does. I’d rather do great work for fewer clients than mediocre work for many. That’s not a tagline. It’s how I’ve operated for 28 years, and it’s why people stay.
The Journey
28 years of building for the web
The Beginning
Started building websites from a basement in Northeast Ohio. Hand-coded HTML, FTP uploads, and a 56k modem. The web was wide open and full of possibility.
Absolute 0 Goes Official
Turned a hobby into a real business. Absolute 0 Internet Studios was born—named for the ambition to leave zero room for error.
WordPress & PHP
Went all-in on WordPress and PHP development. Stopped using templates and page builders. Every project custom-built from the ground up.
Hosting & Infrastructure
Launched managed hosting services. Took full ownership of the stack—from code to server to DNS. Clients got one person to call for everything.
Custom Applications
Expanded into Laravel and custom web application development. Client portals, business tools, and SaaS platforms—solving problems WordPress couldn’t.
AI Integration
Started integrating AI into client projects—content automation, photo analysis, chatbots, and workflow tools. Practical AI that makes a measurable difference.
Still Building
28 years in, still writing code every day. Still picking up the phone. Still treating every project like it’s the one that matters most—because to somebody, it is.
Solo by Choice
One person. That’s the point.
I’ve had opportunities to grow a team. I chose not to. Here’s why: when you hire a studio, you talk to a salesperson, get handed to a project manager, and your work gets done by whoever’s available. When you hire me, you talk to me. I do the work. I answer the phone.
- Direct communication—no account managers or ticket queues
- One person accountable for every line of code
- Decisions made in hours, not committee meetings
- Relationships that last decades, not project cycles
Let’s work together
No pitch decks, no discovery phases that take six weeks. Just a conversation about what you need and whether I’m the right fit.
